The first version of woodWOP was introduced in 1991 on a HOMAG BAZ 10. Prior to this, Homag machines were programmed using G-code or external software.

The system ran on the OS9 operating system on the machine controls.

Already in this version, variable programming and working with mathematical expressions was possible. Even drilling optimisation was already available. However, an office workstation meant a hardware requirement that was not very attractive for many customers, as an OS9 computer had to be installed.
