Timber frame construction

Wooden Frame Construction

Timber frame construction is currently the most frequently used system in wood construction Holzbau. The frame construction arose from the balloon frame and platform frame construction.

The wooden frame construction consists of a bar-shaped supporting frame and a planking which stabilizes the support rib. The vertical forces of the roof and floor ceilings are taken over by the bar-shaped support frame. The horizontal loads (from wind and stabilizing forces) are taken over by the planking of wood materials.

The elements are prefabricated and can then be assembled within a few days.

As a further system, the wooden panel construction is widely used, which is very similar to the construction of wooden frames.
