Cold Gun is a cooling device for the tools of CNC-machining centres.

Cold Gun is a vortex tube developed by the company Exair (later belonging to the group Eputec), in which an airstream is devided into a cold and a warm stream.

The warm stream is being derived whereas the cold stream - with 28 k difference in temperature from the initial temperature - can be used for several cooling tasks.

With Holz-Her Cold Guns the cold stream is being used for cooling the milling tool of CNC-machining centres.
