glueBox is a PUR edge banding process from the manufacturer FELDER/FORMAT4.

In the so-called glueBox, a thin PUR adhesive strip is guided between the edgebanding material and the workpiece and melted on.

When using the glueBox, neither a glue pot nor a melting unit are necessary. This means that there is no need for a complete assembly and the associated high cleaning and handling costs (e.g. protective gas atmosphere), especially when using PUR.

Technical data (2019):

• adhesive strips available in adhesive roll lengths of 25, 75 or 100 running metres.
• for workpiece thicknesses of 16, 19 or 40 mm height.
• heating time of the system is 90 seconds
• interchangeable operation with a glue tank is possible at any time
• no manual cleaning necessary
• on market launch usable with feed rates up to 10 m/min

Advantage of this system

• very fast operational readiness
• no cleaning effort, as is otherwise necessary when using PUR
• processing of wooden strips is possible here, which is not feasible with hot air and laser processes
