Machine table and programmable stop

For surface-sensitive materials a machine table with air nozzles throughout is to be recommended. Here nozzles ensure, comparable to the air cushion tables in the front section, that even with heavy panel packages damages can be prevented on the material. Furthermore the manufacturer offers different solutions to free the cutting area from saw chips which otherwise could be pressed via top pressure into the senstivie panel surface during the next cutting (e.g. Homag DustEx).

Separate programmable stops, for increasing the throughput and for flexibilisation of production, are technologically extensive and a more rarely-ordered additional equipment. The principle: One or several collet chucks position the already-cut strips on to the programmable stop independently from the rest of the collet chucks. Thus transversal cuts as well as longitudinal cuts are possible in one cutting process. New developments try to optimize this principle further. Thus Fimal introduced a new concept on the Ligna 2019, with a rotatingly-stored programmable stop. After the longitudinal cut the programmable stop turns the cut panel 90° and hands them over to the collet chucks of the frontal firm part of the programmable stop in order to turn back to its starting position. Thus in the following of the longitudinal cut the transversal cut can immediately take place, which creates a saving of time from 20 - 25 per cent as oppes to beamsaws.

Separate programme sliders: flexible but cost-intensive, therefore less common
Angle cutting devices also allow non-rectangular formats to be cut on the panel saw
