Chip nozzle

When milling with CNC machining centres large quantities of chips and dust are produced and sometimes even larger workpiece splints. These are directed downwards through the inclined cutting edges of the milling tool. Since the extraction opening can rarely be located directly at the point of origin of the chips in favour of freedom of work, various devices are ensuring the transport of chips and dust to the extraction opening. One possibility is chip nozzle. These blade wheels enclosing the tool shaft generate an air flow at high rotational speed, which pulls chips and dust upwards through the turbine until they are caught by the suction of the extraction system.

Another way of directing the flight of dust and chips is the chip deflector

Faceplate

When using the nesting process, workpiece splinters are produced which would jam in the turbine due to their size. Perforated cover plates, so-called " faceplates", prevent splinters from entering the turbine.

Systems

The various tool manufacturers offer systems that differ mainly in the connection between router heads, turbines and tools.
