With frame-shaped workpieces the wood fibres go against one another in an angle. By feeding these workpieces in a slightly-twisted shape to the wide belt sanders a relatively-good sanding result can be achieved. Optimal results can be achieved on machines with transversal sanding units, longitudinal sanding unit with controlled segmental sanding pad and a frame sanding program.

When calling up the frame sanding program the machine control takes into account the different fibre courses and controls the use of pressure elements of transversal and longitudinal sanding pads in such a way that the fibres are optimally sheared off.
