The U60 is a gantry type CNC-processing centre.

At the introduction of the new construction series U;27731}, new aggregates supports and new ESA contros were used.

The U60 is the most flexible machine of the U-series, having some special functions such as the through-feed device and a second y-axis for parallel positioning of two drilling units, which allows a simultaneous boring of two hole lines.

• groove saw aggregate tiltable 0-90°
• router head 3, 6 and 5.5 kW, various chuck systems, yet no tool clamping system, which allows automatic tool change
• horizontal boring head with up to 8 borers in X and 2 in y
• horizontal boring head with 2 spindels in X or Y
• sanding aggregate
• surface scanning Aagregate

Between 1992 and 1993, all machines of the U-series were replaced by the Author construction series. Curiously, U550 replaced U50, whereas the successor Author 660 replaced U60 later on the market.
