GIBEN PM-System

This system was introduced in the year 2000 and features two different types of CNC-controlled grippers. The term PM stands for 'pinze mobili' and therefore means 'moveable grippers'.

On the one hand there is a gripper 'X', which moves along the pusher traverse (axis X) and on the other hand there is a gripper 'XY' with movability along the pusher traverse as well as parallel to the pusher movement (axis X and axis Y). Therefore a more differentiated positioning of the pack of panel or the stripes towards to cutting line is possible. The advantage is, that only two grippers of the type 'X' or a combination of two grippers type 'X' and type 'XY' can work work off almost all cutting patterns more efficiently as machines with several fixed grippers.

The positioning of these grippers is done automatically via the PC of the beamsaw and is continuesly optimized according to the project data, the panel dimensions, the cutting sequences as well as the stripe- and part-measures.

The manufacturer has implemented this system on beamsaws type Formula X and Formula XY, in which the first named has only grippers of the type 'X' and the last named a combination of the type 'X' and the type 'Y'. Die angle plant Formula S has grippers of type 'X' on the length pusher and clamps of the type 'XY' on the cross pusher.
