Production plant for MDF panels

In an MDF / HDF production plant, medium density fibreboards (MDF) are produced in series. The production process differs from chipboard and OSB production, because the wood chips are not crushed into chips or strands but ground into fibers. At the center is a hot press to which all upstream and downstream processes are oriented.

The first MDF production plants were built in 1969.

MDF is characterised through its three-dimensional machinability. In contrast to chipboards, the edges do not have to be sealed to prevent edge tearing.
