ABS plasticABS is the abbreviation for Acrylonitrite-Butadien-Styrene, a chlorine-free plastic. This plastic is characterised through its thermal and mechanic resilience and its impact resistance, which is also insensitive to strong fluctuations in temperature and humidity. ABS is a high-quality plastic which is resistant to miscellaneous chemicals such as oil, alkalis, acids, salts and alcohols (limited resistance to organic solvents and fuel). Its highly impact-resistant material properties have a service life-prolonging effect on the cutting tools of the machine being processed. Application in the woodworking industryABS is especially used in wood processing as a so-called ABS edge to cover the narrow side of chipboard and MDF board. |
