Chevron belt

Soft, profiled belt with chevron (or otherwise profiled) grooves, which is used between sanding belt and sanding pad or between the belt and the sanding roller.

Used in cross sanding units or lengthwise sanding aggregates for finish sanding of lacquered surfaces. Serves to guide the sanding belt and stops fast tearing, e.g. at cross-belts which are used to sand profiled workpieces.

Time-in of each abrasive grain on the workpiece surface is reduced, leading to smoother surface, increasing the belt life and decreasing the belt temperature (important for lacquer sanding or plastic surfaces).

Pressure segment belts have long been applied successfully on cross sanding units. Only since about 2010 they have been used increasingly on lengthwise sanding aggregates.
