Interchangeable edgebanding Aggregate for CNC-machining centres from HOMAG. Aggregate for high capacity, with the possibility to precisely cut joint edges and process those.

In the mid-1990s, HOMAG presented the machining center Genius B 30, which had been designed as a cheap alternative to the former processing centers with firmly installed edgebanding aggregate and second Y-axis. For this processing center two different types of exchangeable edgebanding aggregates were available:

• The 360° gluing Aggregate
• The 4-sides gluing Aggregate

Even if the success was rather modest at first, these aggregates have been continuously developed, partly used on other machines and partly been distributed with different names.

In 2005, HOMAG introduced the following designations:

• PowerEdge ("360 degree") as well as
• easyEdge ("4-sides")

The powerEdge aggregate can only be used on machines with pneumatic and electronic aggregate Interface, has its own glue pot with separate heating and a device for precise cutting of edge materials, such as joint edges. Depending on the configuration, it can be worked with through-feed speeds of 20 - 30 m/min.

There are several special aggregates, based on the powerEdge aggregate.

PowerEdge Softforming

By the use of individual profile shoes, almost all Softforming profiles can be coated.

PowerEdge Falzbekantung

By using a pressure shoe bar, various folding geometries (e.g. doors) can be edged.

PowerEdge Edgefolding

Special technical type with chip mill and two pressure rollers. In this way, rectangular workpieces can be edged in a single operation with the edge being notched and folded around the corner.

Inner corner edgebanding aggregate

Special edgebanding aggregate based on the powerEdge technology for the edging of rectangular inner corners.
