HOMAG WOODWOP 5.0

Homag Woodwop 5.0 replaced the transitional version 4.5 in 2002.

Woodwop 5.0 was the longest version of Woodwop in use.

Originally, Woodwop 5.0 was developed for the new control powerControl PC 85. Software and hardware were to be launched at the same time.

However, some existing series, whose replacement was imminent, continued to be delivered with the old HOMAG HOMATIC 2000 PC or IPC or HOMAG HOMATIC PC 83 controllers and the new software.

The complete conversion to Woodwop 5.0 was not completed until 2004.

The replacement took place in 2009 with WOODWOP 6.0, here too there was a transition phase so that individual machines were still delivered with woodwop 5.0 until 2011.

With woodWOP 5.0 from 2002, the individual part processing of parts with edge banding was considerably simplified. The topic of edge banding on the machining centre was thus essentially reduced to determining which edge processing is desired on which workpiece contour. Since then, the Edge Wizard has been the assistant for edge processing. All macros that had to be programmed manually in previous versions are generated automatically by the wizard: Pre-milling, fine milling, blow-off nozzle, edge banding, coping, flush milling, scraper, ... to name only the most important ones. With the technology database, gluing has been further optimised since woodWOP 5.0. Depending on small inner or outer radii, technology parameters are automatically adjusted in the woodWOP programme, e.g. reduction of the feed or switching on radiant heaters to make the edge more flexible.
