HEESEMANN P-ROB

The portal sanding robot P_Rob enables the processing of workpieces of any shape with 3D contours. The freely moving workpiece guidance head is mounted on a heavy portal, the axes of which are mobile in an X, Y and vertical Z direction. The turning and tilting axes are kept very short, in order to reduce angle errors. All linear axes are moved by dynamic servo drives, which enable high operating speeds. This heavyweight design enables precise and shaping sanding work of the same quality as the sanding centre SZ 2. The advantage here though lies in the fact that the workpiece can be moved on an arbitrary basis and three-dimensionally past the sanding aggregates.

In comparison to the articulated arm robot systems we see considerably enhanced accuracy with this design, which is similar to a processing centre. The portal sanding robot can be equipped with many different types of sanding aggregates. These are advantageously mounted on a turning device, which can swivel the respective sanding aggregate required in the movement range through CNC control.

Due to the modular construction it is possible to process various workpiece dimensions.
