Former German manufacturer of surface processing technology.

Johannsen produced approx. 22,000 grinding machines up to the insolvency in 2000. The supply of spare parts for the Johannsen grinding machines produced from 1990 onwards is ensured by company KBM.

History

2000

The construction of sanding machines is abandoned due to bankruptcy, but is resumed by the company KBM. Johannsen takes over the future service device for these machines.

Johannsen cooperates with the Italian grinding technology manufacturer CB; sales in Germany and service.

1985

Construction of edge grinding machines.

1980

Sanding machines for metalworking account for 20 % of production.

1959

First stroke sander. These became a successful product.

First woodworking machinery (band saws, lathes)

1940s

After the war, the Johannsen Oberflächentechnik GmbH as engineering company was founded.

1934

Establishment of the Hans Johannsen Maschinenfabrik und Apparatebau KG in Battenberg.
