Short description

CNC-machining centre of the entry-level, which IMA introduced on the market in 2007, and which was only offered without an edgebanding aggregate.

In 2007, IMA completely revised all their model series, and the previous series BIMA 210 was replaced by the model BIMA 200. It was designed as an inexpensive entry-level machine and was therefore launched with a fixed configuration and few options.

Equipment

• Machine table (pod and rail table) with optional LED device as help for the positioning of vacuum cups, 3.000 mm in X, 1.250 mm in Y
• Working spindle with 7.5 kW and 8-fold tool changer, traveling in X. No C-axis was available for the working spindle - however, it was possible, to insert and use angular aggregates at different angles by a system of supports for horizontal aggregates, which are offset by 45 degrees.

Options - 2 drilling units

• 14 drills vertical and 6 drills horizontal, groove saw traversable by 90 degrees
• 21 drills vertical and cross-shaped router head, which could be tilted by 90 degrees and contained 4 horizontal drills as well as a groove saw

From the beginning until the mid-1990s, a model called BIMA 200 had already been produced. It was the models of the series BIMA 200/600, which were designed as heavy CNC machining centers without edgebanding aggregates and which were produced in the former IMA-Norte manufactories.

Special features

The model BIMA 200 wwas offered with a matrix table, a smooth table or a pod and rail table and had a working range of 3.000 x 1.000 mm. The working range of the X-axis could be enlarged in accordance to customer wishes. The model had a working spindle with 5.5 kW and an HSK-F63 tool interface.

Optionally available was an 8-fold tool changer, traveling along in X and Y as well as a 6-fold tool changer for particularly large tools, traveling along in X. Different feeding and unloading systems were offered for the model BIMA 200.

With the disappearance of the name "Norte" as an independent company of the IMA group in the mid-1990s, the production of the models BIMA 200/600 was also discontinued.
