CNC machining center from IMA in portal design, for medium and large scale production.

In 2000, IMA developed particularly powerful portal machining centers for medium and large scale production, with features largely configurable to customer requirements.

The models BIMA P680, BIMA P880 and BIMA P980 are largely identical and differ only in the Y-axis.

Equipment

• The machines have 2 tables, which were available in lengths of 2.100/3.000 and 3.800 mm, the Y-axis was 1.400 mm long.
• They could be equipped with 2 independent aggregates supports, which had a 7.5 kW working spindle, a C-axis and an 18-fold ride-along disc tool changer.
• On each aggregates support, a largely freely configurable drilling unit could be attached.
• There were plenty of other options, such as NC table - later Dynapoint, a 5-axis spindle, a 2nd router head and others.
• In the model BIMA P680V, an edgebanding aggregate was additionally installed.
