HÖCHSMANN CLIPSPRESSE

Proprietary development from the house of Höchsmann

Technical principle

The colouring of the glass beads is a costly process. If the glass beads are cut corresponding with the casement, the cutting edges are not coated on the surface.

In consideration of these circumstances Leopold Höchsmann developed a system which connected two already cut glass beads using a pneumatic press and reusable metal pins (clips). The glass bead unit that was resulting from this process was about 10 mm longer than the casement. As a result of this it was possible to clamp the glass beads into the casement´s ventilation groove and to subject them to the process of surface coating on all sides in combination with the appropriate casement when it was flow coated using the flow coating line (see FLU BD).
