The frequency is changed with the aid of a motor and coil. Generally, it is only possible to change to one new frequency. Through the use of turning switch it is also possible to select two different frequencies.

static/frequency converter:

The frequency is changed with the aid of semiconductor elements. Thanks to the programming unit it is possible to select any arbitrary frequency.
