Sanding lamellas are floppy notched discs from fabric, which are coated with sanding grit. Multiple sanding lamellas clamped on a hub/bush create a highly flexible brush, which nestles up against the workpiece and penetrates profiles. During the sanding process protruding wood fibres alone are sheared off, whilst the wood surface is not abraded. Sanding with sanding lamellas therefore requires initial thorough fine sanding. The hubs can be fitted with sanding lamellas and sisal lamellas on an alternating basis. The sisal "sweeps" the sanding dust out of profile corners.
