The six-sided processing of panel-shaped workpieces on machines in a clamping is fundamentally problematic.

For a machine processing, every workpiece needs to be clamped. In the field of clamping devices, no processing may take place.

in stationary cNC-machining centres the workpieces will mostly be clamped on one of the both surface areas so that usually only one surface area as well as the four narrow sides can be processing in a clamping.

There is a stationary type of machines, with which the workpieces are being transported with clamp grippers. Here a double-sided processing of the great surface area is possible. A narrow side, however, cannot be processed. (at least in range of the gripper),

It´d be possible, to process the workpiece in areas non-taken by grippers. Although fixedly attached units collide with the grippers, as they have to be within moving range of the gripper.

With through-feed machines, all-sided processing is easier to realize as more stations can lie after another and therefore the workpiece can be clamped at every station each in different ways.

Biesse solves this problem with the models of the Skipper-series by this machine equipped with up to two automactial descending units. Whose processing motions are being aligned of the control with the movements of the grippers. The grippers will be positioned on the workpiece in such way that a processing of the sixth side can be executed without encompass movements.
