The construstion of wooden windows means the manufacture of windows and outer doors as well as the associated frames (blind frames), connected to the masonry, from individual solid wood parts (window scantlings).

There are various possibilities to produce windows and entry doors. A common distinction is made between production window frame by window frame and single piece production.

The basic production steps can be divided as follows:

• Production of the window scantlings
• Processing of the longitudinal surfaces
• Processing of the front sides
• Assembling the individual parts to form frames
• Surface coating

Depending on which production method is chosen, part of the longitudinal surface processing, for example, can only take place after the frames have been joined together.
