The development of machines of such kind complied with the increasing meaning of Nesting machines from the mid 2000's on.

A crucial disadvantage of the Nesting technology consists of the processing of the narrow sides not being possible. Hence it was required to develop machines, which are exactly specialized in it and aligned to common Nesting machines concerning the capacity.

The ABD series has been developed in order to deliver the horizontal drilling machines each suitable for the available Nesting machines in the HOMAG-group.

All types of the ABD series are in different widths and available in a variety of equipment variations, e.g. collecting dowels, further drilling units etc.
