BRANDT MF 6250 Multifunctional trimming unitFlush trimming/radius/chamfer milling aggregateThe BRANDT Multifunctional trimming unit with corner rounding MF 6250 combines the functions of chamfer and radius milling as well as form milling and Corner rounding in an aggregate. Construction and mode of operationThe aggregate consists of two units, of which the front one machines the upper workpiece edge and the rear one the lower workpiece edge. The up and down movement is effected through pneumatic cylinder. In longitudinal direction linear motors provide the propulsion. Chamfer and radius millingThe front milling motor is located at a height above the upper edge of the workpiece. As soon as it receives the signal for insertion from the line control, it is lowered by the pneumatic cylinder until the vertical sensing rollers contacts the workpiece surface. As soon as the rear edge of the workpiece passes under the milling motor, the line control gives the signal for lifting. In the same way, processing is carried out from bottom. Form millingDuring form milling, the front milling motor is positioned at the height the lower edge of the workpiece. Shortly before the leading edge of the workpiece reaches the milling motor, it is pre-accelerated through the linear motor. When the leading edge of the workpiece comes up against the stop of the unit, the pneumatic cylinder causes the milling motor to rise, thus profiling the front face of the workpiece edge. When the top edge is reached, the cylinder lifts the milling motor and the linear motor stops the horizontal movement. When the rear edge of the workpiece reaches the milling motor, it is accelerated again in horizontal direction. When the motor is placed on the rear edge, the downward movement is performed through the pneumatic cylinder. After the milling process is finished, the motor returns to its initial position. Corner roundingThe front milling motor is at the height the workpiece. When the workpiece approaches, the milling motor is pre-accelerated through the linear motor so that the leading edge of the workpiece gently hits the stop of the aggregates. After the impact, the pneumatic cylinder lifts the motor. The feeler discs rollers off on the front edge so that the milling tool transfers the profile of the edge to the corner. When the upper edge is reached, the linear motor stops the movement. Shortly before the rear edge is reached, the linear motor starts the motor moving again and the pneumatic system free the motor so that when the rear edge is reached, the sensing roller rolls on the workpiece edge again and the profile is transferred from the milling tool to the corner. The linear motor then returns the milling motor to its initial position. The same process is carried out with a time delay at the lower workpiece edge through the rear unit of the aggregate. FunctionsDue to the independence of the units, only the upper or only the lower edge can be processed if required. In addition, it is possible to select whether only the front or only the rear workpiece corners are to be copied, e.g. if a furniture shelf has a 2 mm edge at the front and a 2 mm edge on the other three sides with melamine edging should be provided. All functions are activated for edging table tops. Milling can be carried out both with and without protrude for the subsequent Scraper unit take place. Characteristics
