BRAUN RUSTIKA

RUSTIKA is the machine program of the machine manufacturer and trading house BRAUN for creating structured surfaces.

Technical principle

By means of hard brushes, the soft wood components are dissolved from the workpiece surface. The hard wood zones remain. This creates the impression of weathered wood. Brushing is carried out with brush rollers equipped with bristles made of plastic or stranded wire, depending on the hardness of the wood and the desired attack strength. If the RUSTIKA is equipped with several brushing units, the post-processing of the brushed surface can also be carried out. The variety of available brush materials makes the RUSTIKA a universally applicable machine for surface finishing.

Product history

RUSTIKA machines have been built since the 1970s. Almost all types have in common the one-sided open design.

Initially, there were also cross brushing machines in which a flat brush oscillates above the workpiece perpendicular to the feed motion.
