Pressure beam

Clamps a book of panels equally in the section of the cutting line on the machine table and therefore improve the position of the cut. The Pressure beam has a cutting gap in which the cut is exercised. Chips are extracted from the interieur of the beam. Within the beam there is a warp-resistant spindle which connects the ends of the pressure beam and does ensures parallel operation in lifting and lowering movements.

Giben, with its model Prismatic for example, offers a split pressure beam which works independently on each side of the cutting line. This ensures a safe grip of books of panels and an equal pressure on the whole length of the beam. Even at the performance of the last edging cut, this system is advantageous regarding the extraction of the saw dust. While the machine exercises the first and last trim cut, the split pressure beam is lowered down to the machine bed, without touching the book of panels and therefore forming a tunnel in which the saw dust is guided and where it can be extracted (also known as tunnel effect)
