Short description

CNC-machining centre, which was introduced by IMA in the mid-1990s and which opened many options for customer-specific configurations.

The working table was similar to the pod and rail table of the model BIMA 410, with a working range of 3.000 x 1.200 mm or 4.000 x 1.200 mm (initially, only for the BIMA 610V).

• Drilling unit with 12 vertical spindles

• Edgebanding aggregate with separate Y-axis
• For the working spindle, a so-called set-up adapter was available, which could be inserted by the tool changer and could position the suction cups on the traverses, controlled by a program. With the C-axis, even a rotation of the suction cups was possible.

Options

For the model BIMA 610 a variety of optional drilling units was available. Optionally, aggregates supports with a working spindle and a drilling aggregate could be installed on each side of the cantilever, e.g. for multiple occupancy or greater flexibility during processing.

Revision of the model series

In 1999, the model series was revised and in contrast to the model BIMA 410, the Y-axis was extended to 1.400 mm. As standard, the machine was available with working lengths of 3.000 - 6.000 mm.

In the late 2000s, the production of the model BIMA 610 was discontinued. As successor of both the BIMA 610 and the BIMA 810, the completely new developed model BIMA 500 was introduced on the market.
